Curb Your Enthusiasm Funnier than Seinfeld

I just was watching Curb your Enthusiasm. I could not control my laughter at
"The Baptism" from Second Season. Wow, Larry David is amazing. I do not even mean to appreciate his sense of humor or his writing. It is one thing to act funny and write funny material. It is totally another thing to be funny, like all the time. It seems Larry is the second person that I see has these funny li'l episodes happening to him all the time.

Do not get me wrong. I am on a high after watching the show at late night. These Blockbuster guys amaze me. They are like these saviors for 30 year olds. It is like you are in twenties and have a steady girlfriend or are steadily looking for one and wasting your whole life trying to find fancy li'l restaurants and thinking about Hallmark greeting cards and Gift shops. The 30's really liberates you from that. I mean, you get some other crapload of Sh*t, Life seems to keep handing them off to you, but atleast you are not caught in this "romantic" Sh*t and there is variegatedness in the sh*t.

Larry seems to be getting such loads of sh*t from loads of crappy and not-so-crappy people, I mean, he is one such crappy observer.

I cannot imagine that the actors operate without a script. I mean, it seems, that they know the plot, know the blocking etc...but do not really know the lines...Not knowing the lines and trying to be funny...seems to be suicide...and believe me, there is nothing comical about a suicide...nothing comical...but this guy is brilliant...

He makes these little observations and they are *bloody* funny as hell.
After watching CYE, i cannot go back to even Seinfeld. I mean, I still love Seinfeld...but I prefer it without the backgroud laughter. I like british comedies in that aspect. I mean, we have Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister and Father Ted, Oh, I looooooooooooove Father Ted.

I would really rank CYE that high. It is like the difference between a mass-loved delicacy and an authentic preparation. Larry's CYE seems to be in the second category, food not cooked in a hurry like Fast-food, but allowing it to be light and not-full, but wanting more.

The Baptism is simply the best of the lot. You find Larry comparing Christianity to covincing about Lobster..."Why do Christians take everything so personally about Christ...it is like ..t is not only that you have to worship...you want everyone else to worshop as well...it is like I like Lobster....Do I go around pushing everyone to have Lobster...Why dont you have some...You should have some...It is not only where you live....you even go to africa and around the world...saying...Lobster...is gooooooood...You HAVE TO HAVE it...

And then he goes to his sister-in-laws wedding to a Jew, who is about to be baptised...and Larry, never been to a Baptism...mistakes it for a drowning...

In that aspect Larry and I are on the same page....we have never witnessed a Baptism before...

Curb Your Enthusiasm is a killer and I recommend that to anyone who is "Serious about Comedy"
